Art with Heart: The Governor’s Art Show

Did you know that for the first 30 years of the Governor’s Art Show they joked that they called it that but they never saw the governor? At least that is what Governor Polis joked when he welcomed the crowd for the opening gala. So I guess he made sure to change that tradition. On top of attending the opening night gala and speaking to the attendees, Governor Polis ensured that he met and shook hands with the artists in attendance.

While this art show has very literally been going on my entire life as it is both of our 34th years, I have to admit that this was the first year I have heard of it. So if you, like me, did not know that one of the largest art shows for exclusively Colorado artists takes place right here in NOCO, let's take a look at the purpose of the Governor’s Art Show.
